Our Story
A journey of passion, tradition, and culinary excellence
The Founder
Raj & Priya Sharma
Born into a family of restaurateurs in Jaipur, India, Raj Sharma grew up surrounded by the intoxicating aromas of his grandmother's kitchen. The sizzle of spices in hot oil, the gentle simmer of slow-cooked curries, and the joyful conversations around the family table shaped his understanding of food as more than sustenance—it was love made edible.
After studying hospitality in Mumbai and working in Michelin-starred kitchens across Europe, Raj met Priya, a brilliant pastry chef with roots in Kerala. Together, they dreamed of creating a space where the soul of Indian home cooking could meet the precision of fine dining.
In 2018, that dream became Saffron & Amber—named after the golden hues that dance through every authentic Indian dish. Today, Raj oversees the kitchen while Priya creates desserts that pay homage to her South Indian heritage with a modern twist.
Executive Chef
Chef Vikram Malhotra
With over 20 years of culinary experience spanning three continents, Chef Vikram brings an unparalleled depth of knowledge to our kitchen. His journey began in the bustling street food stalls of Old Delhi, where he learned that the simplest dishes often require the most skill.
After honing his craft at prestigious establishments including The Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai and Gordon Ramsay's restaurant in London, Chef Vikram developed his signature style: honoring traditional techniques while embracing innovative presentations.
“Every dish tells a story,” he says. “My job is to make sure that story transports our guests to the heart of India, one bite at a time.”
